To no surprise the denim on denim trend has made it’s way back as one of the seasons biggest trends⎼and I ain’t mad at it. There’s nothing more sexy or more versatile to me than denim. Distressed, skinny and cropped at the ankle has my name written all over it. No matter how you cut it denim is the anchor piece of my wardrobe. I’ve been itching for the perfect denim skirt for the sole purpose of pairing it back to an oversized denim shirt. Picked up in the men’s section at H&M for $10 ( they’re having a huge blow out sale right now, so I would do it movin’ to your closest H&M) and I immediately caught a vision of a denim on denim look. I wanted to update my past attempt (seen here) at head-to-toe denim with a distressed skirt. Like many things in my closet, my ideal skirt came from the almighty Nordstrom.
A little on the pricer side, but it’s one of those pieces that you can keep pulling out every summer and wear multiple ways. A sexy nude lace-up heel would have been the obvious choice for footwear, but I’ve been feeling a little edgy and love the look of black accessories with denim. While I love a good denim on denim outfit, the real star of this outfit are my new favorite Vogue shades. Found on Polette.com, I can’t tell you enough how great the quality is. I was genuinely shocked at how well made and sturdy they are especially because they come with such a reasonable price point. The cool thing is you can customize them and add anti-scratch or anti-reflective lenses. I’ll never completely give up my aviator’s, but as of now these tortoise shades have got my full attention.
